All Users

General anonymized app usage data is collected and aggregated to help us understand how our app is performing. This includes:

• Time spent in app
• Specific content and views visited
• Geo-location of use (only if location permissions are explicitly granted by the user)

Logged in Users

Users who log into the app have their chosen email address recorded for authentication and account management purposes. Their progress and activity in the app's tours and scavenger hunts are recorded in a database connected to this email address. Aside from records of specific tour and scavenger hunt locations visited, general ongoing geo-location data tied to a specific user profile is not recorded.

Data Usage

Collected data is used by On This Spot Inc. to maintain core features (like saving your progress), inform the technical and creative development of the app, and display progress to the user who the data belongs to.

Data Sharing & Third Parties

User personal data will never be sold, rented, or leased to third parties under any circumstances. Anonymized, aggregated usage data can be shared with municipal, tourism, heritage, business, and education clients/partners to demonstrate the performance of their content and inform their decisions.

We may use trusted third-party service provider to help analyze app performance. These providers are strictly bound by confidentiality agreements to safeguard any data they process.

User Rights & Data Control

Users can view all data associated with their account directly within the app. Formal downloads of identity-linked data are available within 24 hours upon request. Account deletion is available immediately within the app's user settings menu, or also within 24 hours upon request. When an account is deleted, all identity-linked data is permanently removed. Anonymized, de-identified usage data may be retained for analytical purposes. All requests can be sent to [email protected].

Children’s Privacy

Our services are not directed to individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with an email address or personal data, we will take immediate steps to delete it. Data Protection Measures

We protect your data using industry-standard engineering practices:

• All data transmissions between the app and our servers use secure HTTPS encryption.
• User databases are encrypted at rest and stored behind secure firewalls.

On This Spot Inc. is based in Canada and complies with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). Data may be processed and stored on servers located in the United States, which may have different data protection laws than your home jurisdiction.

Users in the European Economic Area (EEA) have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including the right to access, correct, or delete their personal data, and to object to or restrict its processing.
